DCTLIA-Fabrication Specialist A - D66-Fabrication (67738-1)

• Position Responsibilities:
• Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks
• Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components
• Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products
• Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation
• Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements
• Works on articles of moderate complexity using established drawings and requirements

Required Skills:

• Willingness to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed
• Able to perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting
• Able to lift/carry up to 35 lbs

Preferred Skills:

• 1+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ months experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience
• Experience with managing or working to safety, quality, and manufacturing performance data
• Experience with Lean Principles (Continuous Improvement, Standard Work, and 5-S tools)

Education / Experience

• Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. high school diploma/GED).

• Shifts: 2nd
• Onsite/remote/hybrid: 100% onsite
• Interview Information: In-person for local candidates, phone screen for non-local
• Are you okay with out-of-state candidates?: manager preferers local but yes, must relocate at own expense
• Successful completion of training is a contingency for all assignments? Yes, on the job and classroom training
• OT/DOT expected?: Yes, OT on Saturdays
• Duration: 12 months
