A/P - Staff Accountant

Job Description

• American Musical Supply, a leading online musical instrument retailer is searching for a dedicated and hard-working Accounts Payable / Staff Accountant for a temporary position in its accounting department. We anticipate the position to run for at least four months, with a possibility of it extending to six months. We are a privately-owned company in Oakland, NJ and offer a pleasant and friendly work environment.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all SG&A Accounts Payable (non-merchandise related) for all entities.  Enter and pay all invoices in a timely manner.
• Balance sheet account reconciliation for multiple accounts including but not limited to Suspense and Prepaid accounts.
• Preparation and entry of weekly payroll entries for multiple entities; familiarity with ADP reporting a plus.
• Maintain daily credit card receipt reconciliation worksheet.
• Responsible for all employee expense reimbursement checks.
• Completion of all quarterly and yearly census reporting requirements. 
• Assist with company audits as requested.
• Additional and ad hoc tasks as requested.
• Skills and Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of related accounting and AP experience
• Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software preferred. Experience with Great Plains / Microsoft Dynamics a big plus
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, well-organized self-starter.
