Job Description
Position Summary
King & Spalding is seeking a Manager of Pricing & Legal Project Management to develop and execute pricing and project management strategies that deliver cost-effective results for clients while supporting the firm's financial objectives.
The role will work closely with attorneys, clients, Business Development, and Pricing Analysts to develop pricing proposals, matter budgets, alternative fee arrangements, financial models, and legal project management strategies.
Law firm / attorney-firm experience is required. Candidates without prior law firm experience should not be submitted.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop creative pricing solutions and alternative fee arrangements.
• Support attorneys with pricing proposals, fee estimates, and matter budgets.
• Develop and negotiate client financial terms and annual rate arrangements.
• Work directly with clients on pricing-related matters and cost objectives.
• Partner with Business Development and attorneys on RFP pricing strategies and financial responses.
• Manage electronic auctions and competitive bidding processes.
• Set up and monitor matters against budgets, including alternative fee arrangements.
• Identify budget overruns, scope changes, and required budget revisions.
• Develop training materials related to pricing, budgeting, and legal project management.
• Create processes, procedures, and tools to improve pricing and project management capabilities.
• Analyze financial models, reports, forecasts, and budgets.
• Stay current with legal industry pricing trends and apply best practices.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years of pricing and related experience, preferably within a law firm.
• Prior law firm / legal industry experience required.
• Strong financial analysis and commercial business acumen.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working directly with attorneys, clients, and professional staff.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with SQL and Power BI is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of legal industry financial and billing systems preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Compensation will depend on relevant experience, location, internal equity, market data, and other job-related factors.
Candidate Requirements
