Profile Summary:

A results-driven Pricing & Operations Manager with deep experience in freight brokerage and logistics execution. The ideal candidate will lead day-to-day operations while overseeing pricing strategy, RFQ management, sales team coordination, and carrier performance.

They are analytical, tech-enabled, and process-focused, capable of scaling operational efficiencies while maintaining service excellence.

This role demands someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a strong focus on gross margin, customer satisfaction, and execution reliability.

Key Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field

Experience:

• 5+ years in 3PL logistics or freight brokerage
• At least 2 years managing dispatch/operations and working closely with pricing & sales
• Prior RFQ/tender experience with mid to large enterprise clients

Tech Proficiency:

• TMS (e.g., Truck mate, Rose Rocket, McLeod, Tailwind)
• Load boards (DAT, Truckstop, Loadlink)
• Automate load board vs Excel/Google Sheets for pricing models
• CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Execution

• Oversee end-to-end load lifecycle: booking, dispatch, tracking, issue resolution, and documentation
• Lead operations team in real-time problem solving and escalation handling
• Maintain high service levels for all customer and carrier interactions

2. RFQ & Pricing Strategy

• Coordinate all incoming RFQs and tenders alongside sales and leadership
• Build pricing models using historical lane data, market rate indexes, and GP goals
• Collaborate with sales reps to strategize competitive but profitable quotes
• Maintain a centralized pricing matrix for key lanes and clients
• Track RFQ win/loss ratios and margin performance for continuous improvement

3. Sales Rep & Cross-Departmental Support

• Act as the operational liaison for sales reps to support client onboarding, quoting, and urgent load coverage
• Attend sales/ops syncs to review client feedback, recurring service issues, and new lane opportunities
• Monitor rep booking patterns and ensure alignment with carrier capacity and margin targets

4. Carrier Management

• Develop and maintain a core carrier program with scorecards based on on-time delivery, communication, and claim history
• Negotiate spot and contract pricing in alignment with company profit goals
• Vet carriers for compliance, safety, and insurance requirements

5. Process, Tech & Continuous Improvement

• Build and maintain SOPs for all operational tasks including RFQ submissions, rate quoting, claims, and dispatch workflows
• Implement process automation tools to improve load pricing, tracking, carrier onboarding, and document collection
• Launch and manage performance dashboards (KPIs such as GP/load, service failures, margin erosion, etc.)
• Stay current on freight market trends and software innovations to identify opportunities for efficiency
