Data Strategy Lead - SPM Level

Role Summary

Seeking an experienced Data Strategy Lead with 12 to 15 years of expertise in defining enterprise data strategies, operating models, governance frameworks, and data modernization roadmaps. The role will be responsible for aligning business priorities with data capabilities across governance, quality, architecture, analytics, AI readiness, and regulatory data management. Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Capital Markets, or other regulated industries is required, with a strong understanding of customer, account, product, risk, trade, regulatory reporting, and financial data domains. The ideal candidate should possess a blend of business consulting, banking domain expertise, and technical data knowledge to drive enterprise-wide data transformation initiatives and deliver measurable business outcomes

Key Responsibilities

• Define enterprise data strategy, operating models, governance frameworks, and transformation roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Partner with business, risk, operations, and technology stakeholders to identify data priorities and translate them into actionable initiatives.
• Establish data governance, stewardship, data quality, metadata, lineage, master data, and control frameworks across enterprise data domains.
• 6-8 years of hands on experience in operations experience in Capital Market experience in Lending, Transaction Banking, Private and commercial Banking.
• Lead current-state assessments, target-state design, capability gap analysis, and data modernization recommendations.
• Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to define data platforms, integration patterns, data products, and cloud modernization strategies.
• Support regulatory, risk, and compliance initiatives through improved data traceability, quality controls, ownership, and reporting capabilities.
• Enable analytics, AI, and GenAI initiatives through trusted, governed, and reusable data assets.
• Facilitate executive workshops, governance forums, roadmap discussions, and investment prioritization activities.
• Define and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and value realization measures to ensure successful adoption of data management capabilities.
• Lead cross-functional teams comprising business analysts, data architects, engineers, governance specialists, and data stewards.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Data Strategy, Data Governance, Data Management, Data Architecture, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Lineage, and Data Operating Models.
• Deep Banking and Financial Services domain expertise, preferably across Capital Markets, Risk, Treasury, Regulatory Reporting, Commercial Banking, or Wealth Management.
• Knowledge of enterprise data platforms including Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, Data Lakes, Lakehouses, and Data Warehousing ecosystems.
• Understanding of enterprise data domains, data products, governance platforms, regulatory reporting, and data risk management principles.
• Familiarity with analytics, AI/ML, GenAI, and data foundations required to support advanced analytics use cases.
• Strong stakeholder management, consulting, communication, and executive presentation skills.
• Ability to develop strategy documents, operating models, maturity assessments, transformation roadmaps, governance frameworks, and business cases.
• Preferred certifications include DAMA CDMP, DCAM, TOGAF, Azure, AWS, Snowflake, or equivalent data and cloud certifications.
