Sales Engineer
Location: Balikpapan (Kalimantan) or Palembang (Sumatera)

Our client, a global industrial technology and engineering company, is looking for a Sales Engineer to support their expansion in Indonesia. The role focuses on developing sales opportunities and delivering solutions for sectors such as mining, metals, cement, chemicals, infrastructure, and renewable energy. Based in either Balikpapan or Palembang, the Sales Engineer will manage the full sales cycle—from identifying prospects and managing client relationships to supporting project implementation. This position is ideal for a technically minded sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced, solution-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers in target industries.
• Identify sales opportunities by staying informed on industry trends and upcoming projects.
• Handle technical inquiries, prepare proposals, and manage quotations and tenders professionally and on time.
• Coordinate internally with product engineers, application specialists, and commercial teams to deliver tailored solutions.
• Ensure smooth handover and support after contract award, staying engaged throughout project delivery to ensure client satisfaction.
• Update and maintain customer data, sales activities, and pipeline information in the company’s CRM system.
• Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events to build visibility and connections.
• Proactively identify and champion new business opportunities within the market.
Sales & Financial Focus
• Achieve sales targets and revenue goals while maximizing profitability.
• Ensure that all commercial terms comply with internal policies.
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and reporting on sales performance.
• Support resolution of customer payment issues related to sales processes.
Reporting & Communication
• Provide timely and accurate reports on sales activities, market feedback, and forecasts.
• Maintain open communication with internal stakeholders to align efforts across departments.
Candidate Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical).
• At least 5 years of experience in B2B technical sales, ideally within mining, cement, palm oil, or heavy industries.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
• Strong understanding of technical concepts and ability to translate them into client-focused solutions.
• Self-driven, target-oriented, and capable of working independently while contributing to a team.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
• Willing to travel frequently, including to remote sites.
• Holds a valid Class A driver’s license.
