FrontEnd Developer

Job Description

We are looking for a frontend developer who is also proficient with React.js / Angular. The primary focus will be on developing the HTML pages, user interface components and implementing them. You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.

Responsibilities

• Developing new user-facing features using HTML5, CSS3, JS, Jquery and Ajax
• Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
• Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code
• Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
• Taking ownership of the complete UI implementation
• Will work closely with the CMS developers and collaborate with them in building the web pages

Skills

• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
• Experience working with PHP/ASP.NET or similar technologies (Integration)
• Experience in React.js, Angular framework are added advantage
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Familiarity with code versioning tools like Gitlab, Bitbucket or Github
• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Good experience working in PHP frameworks and open-source CMS like WordPress and Drupal in integrating the designs, themes and creating pages.
• Strong knowledge and experience in achieving high performance web pages that are fully mobile responsive.

Good-to-Have

• Experience in Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment.
• Familiarity with SCRUM as a development method for Agile Development.
• Passion for web technologies and a desire to remain up to date with the latest technologies.

General:

• Must have strong communications skills in English - significant exposure directly to customer (written and spoken)
• Process Analysis skills to understand the requirements end-to-end and be able to determine customer needs vs. wants.
• Negotiation skills to be able to present technology limitations and agree with customer on workarounds.
• Be a Team player
• Must be willing to work on US/UK shifts
