Business Analyst

The Client: 

On behalf of our Client, a Banking Institution with heartquarters in Nicosia, we are looking to recruit a Business Analyst to join their team.

The Position:

A Business Analyst drive change and help shape the future of the Bank. The focus of the role is on understanding how the Bank operates, identifying what needs to change in policies, products, systems, procedures and KPI management, and implementing those changes with full and clear ownership. Working closely with O&M and teams across the Bank, you will help improve efficiency, manage risk, meet regulatory requirements, and strengthen the Bank’s overall performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze end‑to‑end business processes, customer behavior, and product performance to identify trends and opportunities for service and product enhancement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, translating them into clear functional specifications, business cases, and process designs.
• Support the development and enhancement of banking products, services, and platforms through close collaboration with Product, Marketing, IT, Digital Channels, and International Banking teams.
• Collect, cleanse, validate, and analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Conduct market and competitor analyses to support strategic decision making and identify opportunities for growth and operational improvements across business lines.
• Identify and recommend process improvements by assessing current (“as is”) workflows, identifying gaps or inefficiencies, and designing optimized (“to be”) models aligned with the Bank’s strategic objectives.
• Participate in and support process re-engineering initiatives, with a focus on efficiency, service quality, and regulatory alignment.
• Design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor performance, service levels, and operational efficiency.
• Provide analytical support for forecasting, budgeting, and target setting activities, including branch level performance monitoring.
• Monitor compliance with internal policies and regulatory frameworks, proactively identifying risks, gaps, and areas requiring revision.

Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience: 

• A Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Project Management, Finance, Business, Engineering or Analytics/Mathematics. 
• A Master’s degree in any of the above fields will be considered as an advantage.  
• Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience within the banking sector, preferably across the business areas of Retail, International Banking Unit (IBU), Wholesale, or Wealth Management.
• Strong analytical, modeling, presentation, communication skills and critical thinker.
• Ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner. 
• Ability to complete demanding analytical tasks with high attention to detail.
• Excellent knowledge of the MS Office applications and specifically Excel.
• Knowledge of SQL and Power BI will be considered as an advantage.

Location: The position is for the Client's offices in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Remuneration: An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate based to qualifications and experience.
