Product Owner – Digital Banking

On behalf of our Client, a Banking Institution with headquarters in Nicosia, we are looking to recruit a Product Owner – Digital Banking to join their team.

The Position

The Product Owner acts as the subject-matter expert and accountable owner for a digital service, journey, or product. The role is responsible for translating business requirements, customer needs, and regulatory constraints into clear, prioritised, and implementable specifications for software development teams, ensuring that delivered solutions provide measurable business value.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Act as the primary subject-matter authority for assigned digital services or customer journeys
• Translate business objectives and requirements into clear functional specifications and user stories and acceptance criteria
• Own and prioritise the product backlog in alignment with business value and strategic objectives
• Serve as the single point of decision-making for scope, priorities, and functional trade-offs
• Collaborate closely with Business Stakeholders, Compliance and Risk Teams, UX/UI designers, Software Development and QA teams
• Ensure regulatory, operational, and customer experience considerations are embedded early in delivery
• Support UAT by validating delivered functionality against business intent
• Continuously refine requirements based on feedback and evolving needs

Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience

• Bachelor’s in Business Analysis, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• At least 3 years of experience in a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in digital environments
• Strong ability to analyse and structure complex business requirements
• Experience working with software development teams in Agile or iterative delivery models
• Excellent stakeholder management and decision-making skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with digital customer journeys and omnichannel platforms
• Exposure to regulatory and compliance-driven delivery environments

Location: The position is for the Client's offices in Nicosia, Cyprus
