The Client:
The company is one of our clients, a top-rated professional services firm, offering Fiduciary, Accounting, Tax and Advisory services. We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join for Client’s offices in Nicosia.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Act as the Payroll officer for both the Firm and clients ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and compliance with the local regulations.
Responsible amongst others to:
Calculate with accuracy and diligence the payroll including statutory deductions (PAYE, Social Insurance, GESY, Provident Fund)
Process the payroll on a monthly basis and ensure all net salaries and statutory payments are paid in a timely manner
Prepare, review and securely distribute monthly payslips and annually the IR63 forms
Update the accounting records with the monthly payroll journal entries
Prepare and submit the Annual Employer Forms
Administer the onboarding of new employees and offboarding for leavers
Administer employee records through the payroll system and internal databases (including updates relevant to change of titles etc)
Conduct periodic reviews of employee records for each client to ensure accuracy and completeness
Ensure that each payroll has the correct parameters, reflecting the employment contracts and relevant hr policies of each client (e.g. working hours)
Administer the employers’ profiles in Ergani platform (and / or any other governmental portal as applicable) and perform relevant updates when necessary, within the statutory deadlines
Processing of business-related expenses such as travelling, subscriptions, etc.
Handle employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits and deductions
Coordinate administrative tasks including travelling allowances and other expenses
Undertake process improvements of the payroll workflows to ensure that the firm follows robust quality control procedures
Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance
Maintain excellent knowledge of related tax and labour legislation
Skills & Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years’ as a Senior Payroll Officer, preferably in professional services organisations
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Advanced knowledge of Cyprus labour legislation and tax regulations
Experience developing payroll procedures and quality control systems
Strong analytical and organisational skills
Excellent Greek and English communication skills
Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or InPayroll will be considered an advantage
