The Client:
Our Client, a Private Equity Real Estate & Hospitality Investments company developing a portfolio of boutique hotels in key European cities, is looking to recruit a Senior Associate to join the Financial Control department in Nicosia.
The Position:
The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to managing and maintaining our financial records, including administrative duties, accounting, financial reporting, taxation and strategy. The various work streams entail the corporate entities in Cyprus but also the subsidiary companies located in Athens, Brussels, Milan, London and Porto.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Administration:
Be responsible for the preparation of payments and the verification of supporting documentation, ensuring proper approvals
Ensure the proper filing and documentation of financial documents
Liaise with lawyers, bankers, and other external parties for matters pertaining to opening bank accounts, certificates’ preparation, etc
2) Accounting:
Collaborate with local accounting teams to ensure the accuracy and timely reporting of financial records
Cooperate efficiently with all departments (acquisitions, development, operations), to provide their invoices and contracts on time
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual reports
3) Financial Reporting:
Maintain various analyses required for financial reporting such as flow of funds schedule, intragroup loan schedules, etc
Maintain cash reports and support budgeting and forecasting activities
Assist in coordinating and preparing for external audits and regulatory examinations
Support other ad-hoc reporting requirements
4) Taxation and Strategy:
Oversee tax compliance efforts, including the preparation and submission of tax returns, ensuring accuracy, and meeting filing deadlines
Assist in the preparation of documentation of the organisation’s tax strategy and policies
Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience:
University degree in Accounting, Finance or another related field
ACCA/ACA qualification with 1-2 years post qualification experience
Previous experience in an accounting or similar role would be an advantage
Familiarity with NetSuite ERP would be an advantage
Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong adaptability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Professional fluency in English, both written and oral
