Accounting Assistant – Nicosia

Company

Our client, a well-established company specialising in the import and distribution of commercial and industrial equipment in Cyprus, with over 65 years of experience in the local market, is seeking to recruit an Accounting Assistant to join its team in Nicosia on a full-time basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting books and records.
• Record day-to-day accounting transactions.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and supplier statements.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare quarterly VAT and VIES returns.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as required by management.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or LCCI Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Good knowledge of accounting software; experience with E-soft will be considered an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent command of Greek and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team-oriented, self-motivated and able to work effectively under pressure.

Location

The position is based in Nicosia.
