The Company Our client, an institution operating in the economic and financial sector, in the context of developing and strengthening its communications strategy, is seeking to recruit a Head of Communications, on a fixed-term contract, based in Nicosia.
Role Overview The Head of Communications will lead the implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy aimed at enhancing transparency, credibility, and public trust. The role oversees all internal and external communications, ensures the accurate and timely dissemination of information, and manages a modern, high-performing communications function that supports the institution’s strategic objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and implement an integrated communication strategy aligned with the institution’s mandate and priorities.
Serve as the primary point of contact for national and international media.
Oversee press releases, media inquiries, press conferences, interviews, speeches and public messaging.
Ensure consistent, accurate, and timely communication across all media interactions.
Oversee the organisation’s digital presence, ensuring the website is accurate, complete, accessible, user‑friendly, and timely updated.
Lead content strategy, editorial planning, and workflow standards for all communication channels.
Translate complex economic and financial topics into clear, accessible messages for the public and stakeholders.
Lead rapid‑response communication during crises or market‑sensitive situations.
Strengthen internal communication to support organisational culture, alignment, and change management.
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team ensuring high standards of performance, innovation and professionalism.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Economics, or a related discipline.
A minimum of 8–10 years of relevant professional experience, including at a managerial level.
Demonstrated experience in managing media relations and strategic communications.
Experience in a financial, economic, or institutional environment will be considered an advantage.
Strategic thinking and long‑term planning capability.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organisational, planning, and project management abilities.
Results‑driven mindset with strong follow‑through.
Ability to present complex topics clearly and accessibly.
