Warehouse Operations Manager
Location: Kempton Park, Gauteng
Package: Negotiable, up to R1.0 million (inclusive of benefits)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee operations at our Kempton Park facility. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in logistics, warehouse management, and team leadership within a multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
Maintain a clean, organized warehouse aligned with company standards.
Manage inventory levels, cycle counts, and stock movement (FIFO, slow-moving, aged stock).
Oversee FG receipts from imports and manufacturing.
Optimize storage capacity and manage materials handling equipment.
Distribution & Logistics
Oversee transport management (own fleet & 3PL) for regional and inter-branch distribution.
Optimize deliveries and vehicle utilization while maintaining a 99% OTIF service level.
Manage fleet costs (fuel, servicing, maintenance) effectively.
Manage service providers, contracts, and SLA performance.
Administration & Continuous Improvement
Maintain accurate record-keeping and reporting.
Collaborate with Sales to review customer needs and performance.
Drive efficiency, productivity, and process improvements.
Lead regional and national supply chain projects.
Budget & Financial Management
Achieve financial targets and monitor the budget.
Approve departmental expenses within mandate.
Compile and execute the annual expense, CAPEX, and resource budget.
Compliance & Audits
Ensure compliance with EHS policies, ISO standards, and local regulations.
Oversee site maintenance and safety regulations.
People & Leadership
Oversee training plans and handle performance management.
Manage disciplinary matters within company policy.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Grade 12 with Mathematics & Accounting.
Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics (non-negotiable).
Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in SAP, Syspro, ClickView, Eco Time, VIP, and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel).
Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience:
10+ years in warehouse & distribution management within a multinational manufacturing organization.
Expertise in logistics, inventory, and supply chain management.
Proven team management, IR handling, and staff development experience.
Knowledge of process design, supply chain optimization, and fleet management.
Experience in managing third-party transport providers.
