Payroll Administrator – VIP Premier Specialist (EE)
Location: Milnerton, Cape Town

Remuneration: R25,000 to R30,000 pm (Basic) + Medical Aid & Pension Fund
Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator with expert-level knowledge of Sage VIP Premier to manage our end-to-end monthly payroll, time & attendance systems, and employee benefits. This role ensures strict compliance with South African legislative frameworks while providing vital administrative support to the broader HR team.
Key Responsibilities
• End-to-End Payroll Administration: Collate data, input changes, and process the monthly payroll using Sage VIP Premier. Reconcile payroll accounts to the General Ledger and upload accurate data to the Fihrst Management System.
• Tax & Statutory Compliance: Timeously prepare and submit bi-annual SARS IRP5 reconciliations, distribution of IRP5s via ESS, and manage PAYE queries.
• Time, Attendance & Leave: Monitor and review daily Eco-Time reports, reconcile monthly timesheets, and manage leave requests/queries via VIP ESS.
• Benefits & Third-Party Admin: Administer and reconcile payments for Medical Aid, Pension Funds, employee loans/savings schemes, and canteen deductions.
• HR Admin, Onboarding & Exits: Coordinate pre-employment checks, manage onboarding/exits (biometric setup, file creation, benefit explanations), and assist the HR Director with ad-hoc reporting (EE, BBBEE, and budgeting).
Essential Technical Requirements
CRITICAL REQUIREMENT: Proven, hands-on experience with Sage VIP Premier is non-negotiable. Candidates without this will not be considered.
• Experience: 3–5 years of dedicated payroll processing experience, plus at least 1 year of general HR administration experience.
• Systems: Advanced proficiency in Sage VIP Premier, ESS, and Eco-Time (or similar T&A software).
• MS Office: Strong MS Excel skills (Formulas, Pivot Tables, Mail Merge).
• Knowledge: Sound understanding of South African labour laws, PAYE, Pension Funds, and Medical Aid administration.
• Qualifications: A Diploma or relevant certification in Payroll, Finance, or HR is highly advantageous.
