Job Title: System Analyst
Location: Johannesburg (3 days per week in the office)

Description
We are seeking experienced System Analysts to join a banking client on a 12-month subcontract engagement. The successful candidates will have a strong background in systems and business analysis within the banking industry and will work closely with architects, developers, testers, and business stakeholders to deliver integrated, API-driven solutions. Please ensure your CV reflects 8+ years of experience as a System Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role in the banking industry. Exposure to loyalty programmes such as eBucks or Vitality is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse, and document business and system requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and elicitation sessions.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications including process maps, use cases, user stories, and workflow diagrams.
- Evaluate current systems and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Collaborate with architects and development teams to design system solutions that adhere to enterprise architecture standards.
- Define system interfaces, integration requirements, and data flows for API-based and system integration solutions.
- Prepare system design documentation and technical specifications to guide development and testing.
- Support system development and implementation activities and facilitate communication between business users and technical teams.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and where required, Waterfall delivery phases.
- Develop and review test scenarios and acceptance criteria and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Validate delivered solutions against business requirements and assist in issue resolution and defect management.
- Serve as the primary liaison between business units and IT teams, providing regular project updates, status reports, and obtaining stakeholder approvals.
- Facilitate workshops, solution review sessions, and knowledge transfer activities.
- Maintain comprehensive system documentation, user manuals, process guides, and knowledge articles.
- Ensure compliance with organisational governance standards and support audit and regulatory requirements where applicable.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8+ years experience as a System Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role within the banking industry. Please ensure this is reflected on your CV.
- Demonstrable experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Proven experience working with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Experience designing and implementing system integration and API-based solutions.
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing and developing test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience facilitating workshops and elicitation sessions.
- Prior exposure to loyalty programmes such as eBucks or Vitality is an advantage.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or professional certifications in business analysis, systems analysis, or related disciplines is desirable.
