PlayBlue is a new-gen, omnichannel, multi-brand sports retail platform that aims to power India’s shift into a sports-playing nation. The concept combines experiential, guidance-led retail with smart distribution and culture-forward storytelling.
Job Title: Manager/ Sr. manager - HR
Location: Ahmedabad
Role purpose
Lead all HR functions for a high-growth, omnichannel, multi-brand sports retail platform. Own people strategy, policy formation for a startup, organization design, and Talent Acquisition to enable rapid store rollouts in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Delhi NCR.
Key responsibilities
- Policy design & compliance
- Create scalable HR policies, processes, and employee lifecycle standards
suitable for a fast-growing startup.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws across states (Maharashtra, Karnataka,
Delhi NCR) and eventual expansion.
- Organization design & change management
- Define org structure for first phase, with clear roles, R&R, reporting lines, and
future scalability.
- Lead workforce planning to support Large Format flagship hubs and Small
Format stores.
Talent acquisition & onboarding
- Build robust TA playbooks for both frontline and corporate roles; design campus
& non-campus sourcing strategies.
- Create fast, high-quality onboarding experiences to reduce time-to-productivity.
People policies & culture
- Define performance management, learning & development, compensation &
benefits design aligned to market benchmarks.
- Foster a culture of play, performance, inclusion, and customer-first mindset.
- Employee relations & HR analytics
- Implement grievance redressal, employee engagement initiatives, and data-
driven HR dashboards.HR operations enablement for stores
- Create store-specific HR processes (recruitment drives, headcount planning,
shift rosters, payroll readiness).
Experience & qualifications
5–8+ years in HR leadership roles, preferably in retail, consumer goods, or
omnichannel fashion/athleisure.
Proven track record in startup environments: policy formation, org design, TA, and
scaling teams rapidly.
Strong knowledge of local labor laws and HRIS/analytics.
Excellent stakeholder management with cross-functional collaboration (Retail ops, Finance, Marketing, Store Ops).
MBA/PGDM in HR or related field preferred.
