Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Power BI and Azure Administrator to support our Data Platform Operations team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI administration, Azure services, and operational support for enterprise data platforms. This role focuses on monitoring, troubleshooting, optimizing performance, security management, and automation within the Azure ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Power BI Administration:
Manage Power BI Service, including workspace administration, user access support, and licensing.
Monitor and troubleshoot Power BI data refresh failures and performance issues.
Implement governance policies for Power BI usage, including RBAC and data security.
Optimize Power BI capacity and performance tuning.
Manage data gateways, datasets, and report scheduling.
Azure Administration:
Manage and maintain Azure resources such as Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, and Data Factory, Databricks Platform and etc..
Monitor Azure workloads, troubleshoot incidents, alerts, and performance bottlenecks.
Implement and manage RBAC, identity & access policies, and compliance controls.
Optimize Azure cost and performance using Azure Monitor, Data dog, and Cost Management.
Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python
Data Platform Operations Support:
Provide L2/L3 support for Platform data pipelines, reporting solutions, and cloud services.
Collaborate with data engineers, BI developers, and cloud architects for issue resolution.
Manage incident response, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and proactive issue resolution.
Ensure adherence to ITSM processes (Incident, Change, and Problem Management).
Experience with ETL tools or data transformation processes (e.g., SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Power Query, Azure Data Factory, Airflow). Understanding these concepts will be essential even if data prep falls under a separate team's responsibility.
Expertise on Azure/GCP/AWS Data/AI/ML Platform technologies
Required Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Power BI and Azure administration.
Strong expertise in Power BI Service, security, workspace management, and report performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks and Azure Monitor.
Proficiency in Azure IAM, RBAC, Policy Management, and Security best practices.
Experience with troubleshooting data platform issues, monitoring, and alerting.
Knowledge of PowerShell, Azure Cli, KQL, or Python for automation and monitoring.
Understanding of ITIL processes and incident management workflows.
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):
Certifications: AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst), ITIL.
Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
Knowledge of DevOps & CI/CD practices for BI deployments.
Experience with Power BI Embedded or API integration.
