Business Unit: Maritime & Logistics Department: Logistics Location: Al Thumama, Qatar
To strategically coordinate and oversee all daily and overall warehouse operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and accurate dispatch, receipt, and shipping of products, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, record-keeping, and stakeholder collaboration.
Operations Management
Direct, coordinate, and achieve service level objectives for all warehousing activities.
Manage the transition of operations from a 3PL (third-party logistics) outsource provider to a new in-house service model.
Supervise the team to accomplish on-time and on-budget shipment of all goods.
Maintain the storage area by organizing floor space, adhering to storage design principles, and recommending improvements.
Maintain accurate records for all inbound receipts, outbound dispatches, non-conforming products, purchase orders, advance shipment notes, and damaged shipments.
Communicate and coordinate daily deliveries effectively.
Stakeholder & System Coordination
Develop and maintain strong relationships with 3PL staff, clients, vendors, and internal business partners.
Interface with customers to answer questions, solve problems, and identify their requirements.
Coordinate all data creation and entry requirements to ensure accurate and timely records.
Ensure proper documentation is in place for the timely inbound and outbound flow of warehouse operations.
Produce reports and spreadsheets on trend analysis, progress order status, and related inventory and distribution control activities.
Leadership & Safety
Supervise subordinate staff, assign work activities, and monitor performance.
Provide recommendations on new subordinate hires and ensure the availability of resources.
Act as a coach to subordinates, identifying training needs and supporting career development.
Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and team members’ performance.
Promote a strong safety culture; responsible for personal safety and the safety of all personnel under their authority.
Conduct risk assessments, ensure all accidents are reported and investigated, and have the authority to stop work when health and safety is compromised.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Diploma in a relevant field. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within the warehousing industry. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
Regional Experience: Middle East/GCC experience is preferred.
Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Office and web applications. Experience in using modern WMS systems (including barcoding, Master data, RF, etc.) is required.
Language Skills: Fluent in English (both written and spoken). Knowledge of other languages is preferred.
