CUSTOMS CLERK
Minimum Qualifications
• Graduate / Diploma in any discipline
• MANDATORY Should have Bilingual skill (Arabic and English)
• MANDATORY Proficiency in Arabic and English Language (Speak, Read and Write)
• MANDATORY Advance Writing Skills (Arabic and English)
• Working knowledge of Custom Procedure and government regulations, Experience in Qatar and
or GCC will be added advantage.
• Familiar with local and international policies and standards
• Familiar with Customs tariff and taxes (import / export)
• Familiar with pre-clearance official approvals process
• Able to write and express complex ideas, instructions and procedures
• Good/reasonable judgment
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and also as part of a team
• Good listening and questioning skills
• A tactful but firm manner
• Honesty and fairness in applying rules
• Flexible and resourceful
• High ethical standards
• Able and familiar to operate computer programs such as Windows and experience in SAP is an
advantage
• Qatari driving license
• Qatari clearing Agent license (preferred)
Minimum Work Experience:
• Minimum 5 years work experience related to Customs Clearance / Shipping,
• Middle east/Gulf experience will be an added advantage/preferences
• Should be aware of all Custom & Commercial registration practices and standards
• Extensive working knowledge in MS office mainly Excel, World, Power point
• Strong coordination & interpersonal skills
Job Responsibilities (but not limited to)
• Ensure full compliance with local and international policies and standards
• Resolving any Custom issue and follow up with the concern party
• Prepare submit periodical reports and related paper works
• Obtain the necessary approvals to clear any import / export shipment
• Prepare the forms for the Duty Exemption and follow-up the approvals
• Maintain proper records and filing.
