Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Welding Engineer with 10+ years of experience in Oil & Gas / EPC projects, holding valid QatarEnergy approval. The candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising all welding-related activities to ensure compliance with QE standards, project specifications, and international welding codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, develop, and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ).

• Ensure all welding activities comply with QatarEnergy requirements and applicable international codes.

• Supervise welding operations at site and fabrication yards.

• Coordinate with QE inspectors, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies.

• Conduct welding inspections and ensure proper implementation of ITPs and QCPs.

• Monitor and control welding-related NCRs, corrective and preventive actions.

• Verify welding consumables, materials, storage, and handling procedures.

• Ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, API, and ISO standards.

• Review NDT results and ensure acceptance as per project requirements.

• Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and final handover activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Metallurgical preferred).

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Welding Engineer in Oil & Gas or EPC projects.

• Mandatory QatarEnergy approval (valid and verifiable).

• Strong knowledge of ASME Section IX, AWS, API, ISO welding standards.

• Experience working on Qatar-based QE projects is highly preferred.

• Excellent documentation and reporting skills.

• Ability to work independently and lead site welding teams.

Preferred Certifications

• CSWIP / AWS Welding Engineer certification

• ISO 9001 Internal or Lead Auditor

• NDT Level II (VT/MT/PT/UT/RT – advantage)
