Lead, Body Shop Maintenance

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Siemens-based PLC systems, industrial networking, and body shop equipment integration. The candidate will be responsible for advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, system optimization, and leading technical teams to ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. PLC Programming & Automation (Advanced)

• Certified in Siemens TIA Portal Service 1 & Service 2

• Siemens Certified Advanced Level 2

• Programming, debugging, and commissioning of complex PLC systems

• Expertise in Ladder Logic, structured programming, and PLC architecture

• Strong knowledge of Industrial IoT and MES integration

• Experience with EPLAN for electrical design documentation

2. HMI & Visualization Systems (Advanced)

• Hands-on experience with WinCC and Unified Comfort Panels

• Development and maintenance of HMI/SCADA systems

• Interface integration with body shop technologies and PLC equipment

3. Industrial Networks & Electronics (Advanced)

• Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols

• Troubleshooting of industrial networking systems

• Knowledge of advanced industrial electronics

4. Body Shop Equipment Maintenance (Advanced)

• Troubleshooting and maintenance of various body shop equipment

• PLC interfacing and diagnostics

• Root cause analysis of equipment failures

• Preventive and predictive maintenance planning

5. Electrical Engineering Knowledge (Advanced)

• Strong understanding of electrical principles in industrial technology

• Knowledge of drives, motors, and control systems

• Experience working with complex Siemens PLCs, drives, and motor equipment

6. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills (Basic to Intermediate)

• Strong analytical ability

• Knowledge of QC tools and structured problem-solving techniques

• Data analysis and process improvement initiatives

7. Energy & Sustainability (Basic)

• Awareness of energy monitoring systems

• Participation in energy conservation initiatives

• Basic understanding of energy efficiency concepts

8. Safety & Compliance (Basic)

• Knowledge of Emergency Preparedness Plans

• Awareness of Safety Management Systems

• Ensuring compliance with industrial safety standards

9. Leadership & Team Management (Advanced)

• Experience in leadership, team motivation, and delegation

• Ability to guide maintenance and automation teams

• Cross-functional coordination capability

10. Spare Parts & Systems Management

• Spare parts planning and inventory control

• Working knowledge of SAP systems

• Maintenance documentation and reporting

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering

• Relevant Siemens certifications (Service 1, Service 2, Advanced Level 2)

• 8+ years of experience in automotive body shop automation

• Strong communication and leadership skills
