I&E Technician – Fire & Gas
The I&E Technician – Fire & Gas is responsible for the inspection, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of fire and gas detection systems, safety instrumented systems, process instrumentation, and associated control equipment in a petrochemical or industrial facility. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant instrumentation while complying with company safety standards and maintenance procedures.
Fluent in English (Speaking, Reading, and Writing).
Knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control systems.
Familiarity with petrochemical plant operations and safety requirements.
Comply with plant safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards associated with instrumentation and control systems.
Participate actively in company safety initiatives and training programs.
Follow ISO requirements for calibration, maintenance documentation, and record keeping.
Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain pneumatic, electronic, digital, and smart instruments.
Diagnose and repair Fire & Gas detection systems, Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
Troubleshoot PLCs, TMR systems (Triconex), and related control systems.
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
Function test safety-critical instrument systems in accordance with approved procedures.
Tune and optimize feedback control loops.
Calibrate pressure, temperature, level, flow, and analytical instruments.
Maintain compressor controls, vibration monitoring systems, boiler controls, and interlock systems.
Overhaul and maintain control valves and associated field instruments.
Verify system performance and ensure operational reliability.
Read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, logic diagrams, and electrical drawings.
Maintain accurate calibration, testing, and maintenance records.
Prepare work reports and update maintenance management systems.
Report equipment status, maintenance activities, and recommendations for improvements.
Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.
Support and participate in plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and special maintenance activities.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
Ensure proper use, care, and storage of tools and test equipment.
Train and mentor subordinates and co-workers when required.
