Electrical Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities:

• Check the operation, adjust, replace, repair, configure, calibrate and maintain the Area equipment to ensure its efficient operation and availability
• Carry out the preventive and predictive, breakdown maintenance program (calibration, inspections, cleaning, adjustment)
• Repair breakdowns
• Ensure high quality standards
• Maintenance of electric motors, variable speed drives, E3 plus relays, Electro magnetic brakes and MCC
• Maintenance of the heavy industrial equipment (eg cranes)
• Procedures to calibrate the load cell, pressure transmitter, level transmitter and other related instruments
• Procedures to execute cable jointing, including actioning cable lying at different levels
• HV/MV/LV switch gears, control circuits and trouble-shooting
• HV/LV motor repair, overhauling and maintenance
• The Job Holder must be able to independently read and understand electrical single line diagrams to enable efficient problem-solving
•  Make technical drawings as required In Smelter Maintenance, Allen Bradley PLC and drives knowledge is essential.
• The Job Holder must be able to read the program and understand the logic and carry out troubleshooting. In Central Maintenance this knowledge is desirable, but not essential.

Qaualification:

• Diploma in Electrical or Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering.
