Position Overview
We seek a dynamic Admin and HR Officer to play a central role in our Administrative and HR operations. This role is critical to supporting our rapid growth trajectory while maintaining the high standards of people management that drive our success in delivering clean energy solutions across West Africa.
Scope of Work
Strategic HR Management & Policy Implementation
• Contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies and policies aligned with business goals and local labor regulations
• Monitor legal and regulatory changes in employment law across West Africa and advise management on necessary adjustments
• Roll out HR policies and ensure company-wide understanding through training sessions, FAQs, and employee communication channels
Talent Acquisition & Development
• Partner with hiring managers to anticipate workforce planning needs and identify talent gaps
• Participate in the full recruitment cycle including job posting, candidate screening, interview coordination, and stakeholder communication
• Organize onboarding and orientation programs to accelerate new hire integration and engagement
• Maintain an up-to-date database of job descriptions and role profiles in line with evolving organizational needs
• Draft, review, and manage employment contracts and offer letters with attention to legal compliance
• Track key HR indicators such as turnover, training rates, and hiring speed
HR Operations & Employee Relations
• Keep accurate and confidential HR records, ensuring all employee information is up to date and secure
• Oversee employee lifecycle processes including promotions, disciplinary actions, exits, and grievances
• Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues, ensuring a fair and consistent approach to resolution
• Engage with social partners, help prepare for dialogue sessions and ensure compliance with negotiated agreements.
Payroll & Compensation Administration
• Collaborate closely with finance teams to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing
• Verify compliance with statutory deductions, social security, and tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions
• Oversee benefits administration (health insurance, pension, leave management)
Administrative & Logistical Coordination
• Oversee general office operations, vendor relationships, facilities, supplies, and utility management
• Support travel arrangements, event coordination, and documentation for internal meetings and external stakeholder engagements
• Maintain organized, accessible filing systems for administrative documentation
Workplace Safety & Wellbeing
• Collaborate with technical teams to uphold workplace health and safety standards
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and mandatory training
• Coordinate wellness and mental health support initiatives
Experience, qualifications, and skills
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in HR and administration, preferably in energy, infrastructure, or cleantech
• Demonstrated familiarity with West African labour markets and multi-country operations
• Prior experience working with asset leasing businesses would be a strong advantage
• Exceptional written, presentation, and communication skills in English; French language proficiency highly desirable for regional operations
• Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced, dynamic environments
• Direct engagement approach with strong results orientation and accountability
• Entrepreneurial, self-starter mindset with ability to work independently while fostering collaborative relationships
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with diverse teams
• Sound judgment and absolute discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and modern HR platforms
