HEAD, COMMERCIAL & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Job Title: Head, Commercial and Business Development

Reports To: CEO

Location: Accra, Ghana

Job Purpose:

As Head of Commercial and Business Development, you will be pivotal in expanding the healthtech services to insurance companies, corporate clients, individual users and the company’s proprietary products. Your goal will be to build strategic partnerships, identify new revenue opportunities, and drive business growth by positioning the company's innovative healthcare solutions in the market. You will lead the sales and marketing team including medical Doctors and other practitioners and sales officers and also oversee the company’s advertising and communications initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Penetration & Lead Generation
   • Identify and target potential clients in insurance companies, corporate sectors, and individual markets.
   • Develop and execute strategies to generate leads, nurture prospects, and convert opportunities into revenue.
   • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
2. Partnership & Client Engagement:
   • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance providers, corporate HR teams, and individual customers.
   • Present and demonstrate our healthtech solutions, highlighting value propositions tailored to client needs.
   • Negotiate contracts, service agreements, and pricing structures to close deals.
3. Business Development & Revenue Growth:
   • Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the company's market presence.
   • Identify new business opportunities, product requirements, and partnership models.
   • Collaborate with product and marketing teams to tailor offerings and campaigns.
4. Account Management & Customer Success:
   • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and long-term engagement.
   • Act as a key point of contact for major clients, overseeing onboarding and ongoing support.
5. Reporting & Market Insights:
   • Track sales performance, pipeline status, and market feedback.
   • Provide regular reports to leadership on opportunities, challenges, and competitive intelligence.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience in sales, business development, or commercial roles within healthtech, healthcare, insurance, or SaaS sectors.
• Strong network and existing relationships with insurance providers, corporate HR, or health service providers is a plus.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to understand complex healthcare and insurance landscapes.
• Goal-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
• Masters degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Management, or related fields; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• 10-15 years working experience
