Position Overview
We seek a dynamic Treasury and Accounts Receivables Accountant to play a central role in
finance operations. The Treasury & Accounts Receivable Accountant plays a pivotal role in
managing group liquidity, ensuring accurate cashflow planning, driving customer collections, and
maintaining strong banking relationships. This position supports the implementation of treasury
policies, payment controls, and credit management processes across the company and
related entities while ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and internal controls.
Scope of Work
Treasury & Payment Operations
• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly cashflow forecasts across entities to
ensure sufficient liquidity for operations and commitments
• Process and book all payment vouchers (cash, bank and mobile wallets) using correct
GL/SL/dimension codes with clear narrations as per established formats
• Ensure all payment vouchers are properly approved in accordance with Delegation of
Authority (DOA) before processing payments
• Execute approved payments through online banking platforms, ensuring dual
authorization and compliance with internal controls
• Manage supplier invoice payments, ensuring complete supporting documentation,
accurate booking of Value Added Tax (VAT) and withholding taxes, and proper recognition
of partial payments
• Monitor and follow up on travel advance justifications to ensure timely clearing of staff
advances
• Maintain approved cash balance limits, ensure system balances match book balances, and
enforce security measures around cash office operations
• Ensure zero fund losses, prevent double payments, and maintain excellent handling of all
payment instruments
• Liaise with banks and financial institutions to resolve payment issues, maintain banking
relationships, and ensure proper custody of cheque booklets
• Ensure all payment vouchers are entered into the system on real-time basis and by end of
each day at the latest with proper archiving of paper documents
Bank & Cash Reconciliations
• Perform daily and monthly bank and cash reconciliations; investigate and resolve
discrepancies promptly
• Submit daily reconciliation reports by first half of each day and comprehensive monthly
reconciliations by 2nd of each month
• Support group treasury consolidation, including intercompany transfers, FX movements,
and hard-currency positions
Customer Invoicing & Revenue Recognition
• Maintain constant liaison with Business Development and Technical teams to stay current
with pricing changes, contract terms, and billing milestones
• Prepare complete and accurate customer invoices within stipulated timeframes using
correct GL/SL/dimension codes and proper narrations per contract documentation
• Ensure accurate booking of output VAT and WHT on all customer invoices
• Execute revenue recognition processes in line with IFRS 15 and ensure compliance with
company accounting policies
• Track finance lease receivables (IFRS 16/IFRS 9), including principal versus interest
recognition, and ensure alignment with the accounting system
Collections & Receivables Management
• Implement and maintain the company's Accounts Receivable Policy, ensuring accurate
invoicing, collections tracking, and aging reports
• Serve as the first point of contact for collection of unpaid invoices approaching due dates,
proactively engaging customers on payment status
• Monitor overdue balances and drive collection efforts in collaboration with relationship
managers, Business Development teams, and finance leadership
• Ensure all invoices due for payment are dispute-free and continuously reconcile invoices
to payments received
• Reconcile customer accounts, ensuring correct allocation of receipts to invoices
• Submit weekly due invoice collection status reports by first half of each Monday
• Provide data for Expected Credit Loss (ECL) analysis and impairment calculations
Month-End Close & Reporting
• Post all treasury and receivable entries in the accounting system (QuickBooks/Dynamics
365/equivalent) using proper dimension coding
• Reclassify advance/deferred revenue from the balance sheet to the revenue account in
the P&L once earned during month-end close
• Prepare reconciliations between advance billings and respective revenue accounts
• Reconcile output VAT and WHT accounts monthly and prepare supporting schedules
• Prepare relevant month-end close schedules for treasury and receivables, submitting
reports by the 3rd of each month
• Participate fully in month-end closing processes, ensuring all treasury and AR entries are
complete and reconciled
• Prepare monthly management reporting pack components, including treasury
dashboards, AR aging summaries, cashflow reports, and working capital metrics
Periodic Planning & Audit Support
• Provide accurate direct cost and indirect cost data for weekly/monthly/quarterly forecast
and annual budget efforts
• Contribute to audit schedules for cash, bank balances, receivables, and related party
transactions
• Support internal and external audits, including field audits, by providing complete
documentation
Compliance & Internal Controls
• Ensure all banking transactions, collections, cash movements, and payment vouchers
comply with internal controls, DOA, and audit requirements
• Adhere strictly to established treasury processes and accounting best practices; maintain
audit-ready documentation
• Ensure proper archiving of all financial records in accordance with company document
retention policies
Collaboration & Continuous Improvements
• Demonstrate proficiency in both accounts receivable and treasury modules of the
accounting system; contribute to system stabilization efforts
• Share knowledge with team members for efficient system usage and provide training
support as needed
• Work closely with project, procurement, sales, and operations teams to align payment
and collection cycles with operational needs
• Contribute to process automation, bank integration, and AR digitalization initiatives
• Identify gaps in cashflow management and propose control improvements
• Interface effectively with customers, banks, suppliers, auditors, and internal stakeholders
to resolve queries
• Demonstrate strong teamwork, business involvement, and take initiative in supporting
other team members
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ICA, CPA) – part-qualified or fully qualified
preferred
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, treasury operations, and accounts
receivable management
• Proven experience in asset-intensive, project-based, or multi-entity environments
• Demonstrated track record in cash and bank reconciliations with high attention to detail
and accuracy
• Strong understanding of IFRS standards, particularly IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments), IFRS
15 (Revenue Recognition), and IFRS 16 (Leases)
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Dynamics 365 Business
Central
• Advanced Excel skills including cashflow modelling, pivot tables, reconciliations, and data
analysis
• Strong knowledge of banking systems, online payment platforms, and payment
authorization controls
• Solid grasp of dimension coding, general ledger structures, and proper transaction
narration
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collections and stakeholder
management
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain strict reporting
schedules
• Strong work ethics, team orientation, and commitment to continuous improvement and
self-development
